Showing Hidden Items in Windows 7

Windows has hidden files, folders and other items to keep users from accidentally modifying things they shouldn't. However, every now and then you need to see these files. Here's how to make the invisible, visible.

image_thumb[1]By default Windows 7 (and maybe Vista) hides the Explorer menu bar. Open any explorer window (not Internet Explorer just Explorer –the program you didn't know had a name that lets you see files and folders on your computer).  At the top you should see an Organize tab. Select that and then from the Layout item move to the right and enable the menu bar as shown in the image.
